EWRS-RTF SERIES

The EWRS-RTF series of 4wd forklift tires were designed to meet the needs of today's job site demands. We came up with a way to offer you serviceability, traction and maximum stability all in one!

How many pneumatic or foam filled 4wd forklift tires have you had to change on your jobsite because of damage or sidewall gashes? With health and safety being as important as it is today a serviceable option was needed. Our team of engineers developed our EWRS-RTF series of 4wd forklift tires to be easily repaired if damaged, although we are not sure you will need to with the quality that went into our design and components.

With serviceable tire sections, the need for a service truck and specialized technicians is all but eliminated. We have reduced your service tooling down to only a 15/16" wrench in your operator's back pocket and repair parts are readily available in your nearest onsite storage container or in the toolbox of your pickup.

4wd forklift tires work under a variety of conditions but one thing remains the same, safety is paramount. For this reason, we designed our EWRS-RTF series with maximum stability and load bearing capacity. A combination of our specially engineered core hole design and bidirectional tread pattern provide a very consistent and predictable loading profile.

4wd Forklift Tires

Often people think that 4wd forklifts look and work close to the same way a regular forklift does. Yet a regular forklift works almost exclusively on smooth even floors. Whereas 4wd forklifts are meant capable of handling heavy loads in a variety of difficult applications. Toughness and versatility is what 4wd forklifts are known for.

Unfortunately, many manufacturers and companies who purchase and run 4wd forklifts often make the mistake of equipping their 4wd forklifts with standard pneumatic 4wd forklift tires. On the other hand, industry experts know that solid 4wd forklift tires are the optimal choice for 4wd forklifts. This article outlines three key reasons why it’s important to fasten your 4wd forklift with solid tires: (1) Eliminate Flat Tires; (2) Reduce Downtime; (3) Increased Wear Life.

[1] Eliminate Flat Tires

Pneumatic 4wd forklift tires are made of a rubber exterior that is filled with air. This 4wd forklift tire type provides a much desired degree of cushioning which is why they’re a common choice for 4wd forklifts that operate in a smooth and relatively clean conditions such as a warehouse applications.

Yet 4wd forklift tires often have to work in all sorts of uneven landscapes, sharp debris, or move from asphalt to sand and gravel. For these reasons, pneumatic 4wd forklift tires struggle to keep up in heavy uses and in such environments. Uneven stresses greatly increase the risk that pneumatic 4wd forklift tires will blow out. Likewise, rocks and debris can easily cause chunking and even puncture pneumatic 4wd forklift tires. Worse still, such problems grow even more likely for those who don't check their tire pressure regularly, since an under or over inflated tire stands a much greater chance of blowing out.

Solid 4wd forklift tires eliminate this problem — ENTIRELY. Simply put, a solid 4wd forklift tire cannot blow out, since it contains no air. Instead, as its name suggests, the entire 4wd forklift tire is entirely made of solid rubber. As a result, 4wd forklifts equipped with solid tires can drive over virtually any surface without worry.

[2] Less Downtime

Companies who routinely work with 4wd forklifts usually have complex tasks to fulfill within fairly short timespans. Efficiency and speed are vital keys to building a profitable business. Unfortunately, the punctures and blowouts experienced with pneumatic 4wd forklift tires have significant impacts in wasting time and money. Both of which no company can afford to waste.

A flat 4wd forklift tire can't stay working until the problem has been fixed or the tire replaced. Unfortunately, these problems tend to crop up at the worst time, meaning you may not have the correct personnel or tools on hand to do a quick repair. As a result, your 4wd forklift will sit on the sideline until the tire can either be repaired or replaced.

Solid 4wd forklift tires increase the reliability of the 4wd forklifts in your fleet, while decreasing the interruptions to your workflow. As a result, you stand a far greater chance of meeting tight project guidelines and keeping your company's profit margins at desired levels.

[3] Increased Wear Life

Solid 4wd forklift tires also tend to last far longer than their pneumatic 4wd forklift tire counterpart. In fact, you can expect that a premium solid 4wd forklift tire last three or even up to five times longer than pneumatic 4wd forklift tires. The difference lies in the amount of rubber material the 4wd forklift tire can wear off before it reaches the critical state of replacement.

Obviously, a pneumatic 4wd forklift tire can only afford to lose a small amount of rubber before reaching its hollow core. This means more frequent replacement costs and downtime. Also, a pneumatic 4wd forklift tire becomes thinner and thinner, it stands an increasingly greater chance of blowing out. Furthermore, pneumatic 4wd forklift tires are also much more vulnerable to chunking — which is a form of loss that occurs when a large piece of a tire breaks off due to stress or friction.

A solid 4wd forklift tire has a lot more material it can lose before reaching the end of its lifespan. And chunking and other catastrophic forms of damage don't represent as great a threat compared to those in pneumatic 4wd forklift tires, since the tire won't blow out no matter how much material it loses.

Pneumatic 4wd forklift tires may seem to make a sensible choice for indoor forklifts or for those working on concrete or asphalt, but in those specific surfaces consider looking at a hard surface solid 4wd forklift tire tread pattern. Hard surface solid 4wd forklift tires have a tread pattern that is designed to work on smooth surfaces thus increase the wear life of a standard pneumatic tire by 5 times while offering all of the added benefits of a solid 4wd forklift tire.

Evolution Wheel
