EWRS-AWP SERIES

BUILT FOR TODAY’S TOUGH JOBSITE DEMANDS

The EWRS-AWP series of aerial lift tires were designed to meet the needs of today's job site demands. We came up with a way to offer you serviceability, traction and maximum stability all in one!

How many pneumatic or foam filled aerial lift tires have you had to replace because of damage or sidewall gashes? With health and safety being as important as it is today, a serviceable option was needed. Our team of engineers developed our EWRS-AWP series of aerial lift platform tires to easily be repaired if damaged, although we’re not sure you will need to with the quality that went into our design and components.

With serviceable tire sections, the need for a service truck and specialized technicians is all but eliminated. We have reduced your service tooling down to only a wrench in your operator's back pocket and repair parts are readily available in your nearest onsite storage container or in the toolbox of your pickup.

Aerial lift tires operate in a variety of conditions, but one thing remains the same: safety is paramount. For this reason, we designed our EWRS-AWP series of aerial lift tires with maximum stability and load bearing capacity. Our specially engineered core hole design provides a very consistent and predictable loading profile.

Benefits of using Solid Aerial Lift Tires

Contractors and other workers are subjected to numerous safety hazards at work. An aerial lift work site is a dangerous piece of equipment to work with or around. The primary function of aerial lifts is to speed up work and increase efficiency. However, when aerial lifts are not properly or frequently inspected, they can lead to serious injuries and even cause death. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the main hazards associated with aerial lifts include:

  • Electrocutions
  • Structural failures or collapses of the machines
  • Tip-overs
  • Contact with the objects or overhead objects
  • Entanglement hazards.

The above safety hazards are preventable if the aerial lifts are fitted with high quality parts, as well as are properly serviced, maintained, and repaired on time.

Yet, structural failure accidents are common for aerial lifts. The collapse is mainly caused by low quality tires that go flat and adversely affect the functionality of the aerial lift. These highly dangerous accidents are preventable if you adhere to aerial lift safety procedures. Moreover, switching from standard air-filled aerial lift tires to solid aerial lifts tires should be encouraged because they’re specifically designed to prevent flat tires leading to the collapse of the machines. This article will look at 7 advantages to using solid aerial lift tires rather than pneumatic air-filled aerial lift tires.

[1] Elimination of Flat Tires

The rubber used in manufacturing solid aerial lift tires maximizes the tire’s resistance to punctures. The elimination in the risk of flat aerial lift tires is essential because it makes the equipment capable of performing in harsh and abrasive terrain. Moreover, the elimination of flat aerial lift tires is critical because it ensures the safety of your aerial lift operator. Additionally, your worker who’s extended 60 feet above the ground is also safe because the aerial lift is stable due to the solid aerial lift tires.

[2] Durability = Cost Savings

The goal of any business is to minimize spending and to increase profit. When you use solid aerial lift tires, you will save money because of the durable construction of aerial lift tires. The solid design means that you can expect the solid aerial lift tires to last at minimum 3 times, and even up to 5 times longer than an air-filled aerial lift tire. This durability also means that you not only replace tires less frequently but it also means that you will get FULL use out of your set of tires.

Air-filled tires are prone to stress cracking and chunking because of their air-filled characteristics which means that you’ll find yourself replacing tires that you haven’t even worn the tread down. Solid aerial lift tires don’t go flat and don’t chunk as easily thus mean that you’re getting the full value and lifespan out of your set of aerial lift tires. The durability of solid aerial lift tires makes them the ideal fit for any work site.

[3] Improve Work Efficiency

Flat aerial lift tires are not only a safety hazard but also leads to wasting time and in turn money. Any job site or company is often working on tight timelines so the last thing you need is to delay a job or have workers unable to work because of a flat aerial lift tire. Because of their solid construction, you should use solid aerial lift tires on your equipment to avoid unnecessary and inconveniences delays. Solid aerial lift tires are durable and resistant to punctures thus increase your work productivity, make your business more efficient, and increases overall morale with your employees as they’re no longer frustrated and discouraged by constantly fixing or replacing flat air-filled aerial lift tires. These features of solid aerial lift tires minimize the risk of holding back your business.

[4] Superior Traction

Solid aerial lift tires have improved traction compared to air-filled aerial lift tires. This is largely due to the large, deep and aggressive aerial lift tire lug design. This lug make-up means that your machines can work in mud, rocks, sand and almost any abrasive and questionable terrain. Your machine operator will be able to move freely, stop, and turn with ease and confidence. Moreover, the increased traction will ensure that there’s smooth movement which not only means you will be able to complete the work faster but will ensure a smooth ride for the machine operator and passenger too.

[5] Low Maintenance Cost

Air-filled aerial lift tires require weekly if not daily maintenance. Not only do tires need to be inspected for stress cracking and lug chunking, the tire pressure needs to be closely monitored to detect air leaks before the tire goes flat in order to prevent injuries or death. This in turn means that as tire issues are detected they need to be fixed or replaced; you can expect this to happen often with air-filled aerial lift tires.

On the other hand, due to their solid construction, solid aerial lift tires are puncture proof, durable, and are less prone to lug chunking. This means that maintaining a solid aerial lift tire is significantly cheaper compared to air-filled aerial lift tires because. Switching to solid aerial lift tires means a HUGE cost savings for your company.

[6] Better Reliability

The success of any project depends on the reliability of the workforce and equipment. Solid aerial lift tires are more reliable compared to air-filled aerial lift tires because they don’t go flat causing delays and costly repairs or replacements and they’re significantly safer for your employees. Also, solid aerial lift tires will help you to complete your work as scheduled thus limiting costly fines for delayed work.

[7] Increased Operator Comfort

An operator’s comfort is important; especially for those working in the same machine all day long. An aerial lift operator’s productivity can only improve if the working environment is conducive to it. Solid aerial lift tires are designed stronger thus able to work in aggressive terrain without affecting the operator’s comfort. The structural and core of solid aerial lift tires are designed to give the aerial lift a smoother and more comfortable ride for the operator. Therefore, solid aerial lift tires provide your company with safety, cost savings, and comfort amongst other great features.
