Purpose-Built for Snow and Ice

The EWRS-SNOW tire is engineered for customers involved in snow-clearing operations. Its specialized design targets optimal traction on snow-packed and icy surfaces, allowing operators to work confidently and efficiently in winter weather conditions.

Enhanced Tread Pattern

Siping: This process involves cutting fine slits across the tire’s rubber surface, which increases flexibility and creates more gripping edges. These slits allow the tread to adapt and conform to uneven, icy, or packed snow, improving traction by adding “biting edges” that help prevent slipping. Siping also helps channel water away from the tire surface, reducing the risk of hydroplaning.

Studded Tread: The inclusion of studs in the tread offers significantly improved grip on ice, making it easier for the tires to dig in and maintain stability on icy surfaces. The studs enhance traction and braking efficiency on icy terrain, which is crucial for skid steers operating on frozen ground.

Specialized Winter Rubber Compound

The EWRS-SNOW tires are made from a unique rubber compound designed to perform in freezing temperatures. This winter-specific compound is softer and remains pliable in cold conditions, allowing the tire to maintain traction. As temperatures drop, the rubber stiffens to an ideal hardness that balances durability with flexibility. An added cold-weather additive ensures that the rubber retains its flexibility and doesn’t become brittle or lose traction in severe cold, preventing cracking or wear caused by freezing temperatures.

High-Capacity Core Geometry

The tire’s core geometry is designed to support high-load capacities, like what is required in telehandlers, aerial work platforms (AWP), and truck-mounted forklifts (TMF). This high-load geometry provides extra support for the skid steer’s weight and load demands, even in demanding winter conditions. Evolution Wheel incorporated this feature due to the softer rubber compound, which enhances traction but requires a robust core structure to handle the heavy loads that snow-clearing skid steers often manage.

These features make the EWRS-SNOW a highly specialized and durable choice for skid steer operators in snow management, prioritizing traction, stability, and endurance in winter conditions.
